*face palm*  I just don't get it!  Maxey Scherr has a fundraiser Jan 27th, Jan 29th and now she's got another fundraiser?  Waste of time!  I've got real conservative values here!
Shut up Cornyn.  I'm not conservative than you could ever dream of.
Maxey Scherr continues to keep busy on the campaign trail and continue to hold regular fundraisers to build support for her campaign.

Next on the horizons is a fundraiser happening tomorrow evening in Scherr's hometown of El Paso, TX.

Details of the Maxey Scherr fundraiser are as follows:

Maxey Scherr for U.S. Senate ~ El Paso Fundraising Reception

Wednesday, February 19, 2014
5:30pm until 7:00pm in MST
The Centre Court, 420 E. San Antonio, El Paso, TX 79901

Since it's early in the campaign season, I do mention that Maxey Scherr seems to be getting a lot of the attention and she has a good shot at getting the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate but there are three other Democratic candidates running so it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the primary race as the primary itself in Texas is March 4th (super early).

Although Scherr's website doesn't show yet where she stands on the issues, in the campaign ad it does reveal what she's for:

Raising Minimum Wage to $10/hour

Fixing and improving Obamacare, not letting the insurance industry have their way

Increasing support for public school system

Marriage Equality

And the line Scherr says in her ad is great from a message standpoint in terms of women's issues:  "When it comes to these issues, Cruz Control is Government Control, not individual rights.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
