Hi, everyone. Welcome to WYFP. Tonight's diary is brought to you by the following public service announcement. So - yeah - call your best friend and read this out loud to them over the phone:
WYFP is our community's Saturday evening gathering to talk about our problems, empathize with one another, and share advice, pootie pictures, favorite adult beverages, and anything else that we think might help. Everyone and all sorts of troubles are welcome. May we find peace and healing here. Won't you please share the joy of WYFP by recommending?
I wrote a lengthy diary about the horrible situation at our son's school. Manipulative, authoritarian administration. Teachers who are overtly hostile to the students. The situation is so awful. It's a K-12 school that has been so fantastic until the last few years under new administration. The lower grades are doing okay, but the highschool is rapidly becoming toxic wreckage.
I mentioned in the diary that I was almost afraid to post it, because the fear that someone who knows of the situation would read it. The fear of retribution for speaking out about this is fierce and real.
Well, the "almost" became "definitely." I just came back to re-read the diary before posting this evening, and I deleted the whole thing.
The district knows. They've done nothing, although one school board member is on the side of those who are trying to stop the bleeding.
I've cried more in the past week than in the past few years, combined.
Even though our son has been at this school since the 6th grade and he graduates next year, we as a family are actively discussing the option of changing schools.
So. That's my FP. What's yours?
