More below the fold.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Ok, we have a current diary schedule. If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.

Special note:
Special section:
I decided to go beyond
Chase's Calendar of Events,
and look up anniversary dates
regarding other topics.
This week:
A serial killer arrest date:
Rader was stopped while driving near his home and taken into custody shortly after noon on February 25, 2005.
Wikipedia
That was Dennis Rader,
of my home town,
Wichita Kansas.
Before he was identified,
he was known by a nickname
he picked out:
BTK:
Bind,
Torture,
Kill.
Dennis Lynn Rader (born March 9, 1945) is an American serial killer and mass murderer who murdered ten people in Sedgwick County (in and around Wichita, Kansas), between 1974 and 1991.
In his first time out,
he killed four members of the
Otero family,
Dad, Mom, and two small children.
The other two children
came home from school,
and found the bodies.
He killed:
Joseph Otero, 38
Julie Otero, 33
Joseph Otero, Jr., 9
Josephine Otero, 11
That was in 1974.
For years,
even gang members
were afraid of BTK.
He was known to cut phone lines,
and hide in closets.
For years,
many citizens of Wichita,
upon arriving home,
would check the phone,
and check their closets.
That's why the day of his arrest
was a great day,
in Wichita, Kansas.
He avoided arrest
for so long
by living a very
ordinary life.
He had a wife and two kids,
went to church,
was a cub scout leader.
He worked as a dog catcher
in a suburb of Wichita.
Nothing about his life
connected him to any of his killings.
Nothing raised any suspicions.
He was finally captured
by way of tricking him
into giving too much evidence,
specifically,
he sent a floppy computer disc
to the news media,
who gave it to the police,
and they were able to trace the floppy disc
back to him.
Thanks for reading.
Hope you're doing well,
but even if not,
tell us about it.
We're here to listen.
