I'll bet everyone here that the Arizona Anti-Gaypocalypse bill is going down. Check this out from National Review (2/25/14):
With the exception of Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.), Senate Republicans who spoke with NRO today were hesitant to comment on Arizona’s controversial bill that critics say legalizes discrimination against gay people. Jeff Flake and John McCain, the state’s U.S. senators, have both called on Governor Jan Brewer to veto the legislation. And today, Ayotte told NRO that she supports their call.
“I hope the governor takes the recommendations of Arizona’s two Senators,” she told NRO before heading into the Republicans’ weekly lunch.
Others were hesitant to take a side.
Senator John Cornyn, of Texas, said, “I’ll leave that to the Arizona folks.”
And there's further non-committal blather from Sen. Lindsay Graham, to the effect that gosh, isn't it up to the state of Arizona to decide whether to act like bigoted pinheads.
But I take heart from hearing the deafening silence of these fools, who are notoriously willing to blame everything from the Bretz floods to the battle of the Teutoberg forest (i.e. Benghazi prequel) on Obamacare and evil left-wingers from San Francisco, Harvard, and Acorn. Perhaps the Republican party is afraid that further manifestations of intolerance and hatred on their part might actually cost them some votes.
