Boston Mayor Martin Walsh says he will not participate in the St. Patty’s Day parade unless gay rights groups are included. According to Walsh:
“Equality comes first. The fact that it’s 2014, I certainly hope we’re able to come to an understanding. It’s long overdue”.

Parade organizers have extended an invitation to a statewide gay advocacy group to march in the parade. There's one caveat though: The group, MassEquality, could not wear T-shirts or hold signs that include the word “gay” or refer to sexual orientation.
Tim Duross, one of the parade coordinators, said they can march under the MassEquality banner.

Is this acceptable? Should they be allowed to wear shirts with the word "gay" on them?
