Addendum for February March 1, 2014
In the spring of 2013, a lobbyist for an NRA chartered organization in Wisconsin said gun-rights proponents need only wait-out the “Connecticut effect” before they could once again start passing laws to loosen restrictions on guns. That lobbyist felt certain we would eventually forget what happened at Sandy Hook, and then any interest in common sense gun laws would vaporize.
We need to let that lobbyist and the NRA know that this time is different. This time we are not going away. We are not going to forget Sandy Hook, or Aurora, or Columbine, or Virginia Tech, or Tucson, or the 100,000 Americans who are either killed or wounded by guns each year.
Please help slow this daily carnage. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.
