Received this e-mail today from Senator Mark Udall (D. CO):
Gay or straight, couples want to get married for the same reasons — to make lifetime commitments to love and care for each other and their families.
Our laws should not discriminate against any couple that wishes to make those commitments, regardless of whom they love.
Nine Colorado couples have recently filed suit to stand up for full marriage equality in Colorado. We can’t let them stand alone.
Please join my colleague, fellow Colorado Senator Michael Bennet, and me to stand up for Colorado marriage equality. Click here to sign the petition and add your voice to demand equality.

Giving families — all families — the legal and economic protections needed to care for one another helps us build stronger communities and a more just country.
There are those who think that change is happening too fast. That equality can wait. In fact, Congressman Cory Gardner — the new front-runner for the Republican nomination to face me in November — opposed gay marriage and opposed the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” — the Department of Defense’s ban on gays serving openly in the military.
But we know the truth. All Coloradans deserve the opportunity to marry the person they love. Anyone who thinks otherwise is standing on the wrong side of history.
Will you stand up for marriage equality? Click here to sign our petition to support full marriage equality in Colorado.

P.S. Governor John Hickenlooper (D. CO) has come out in support of marriage equality in Colorado:
http://thinkprogress.org/...
Though Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) was supportive of the effort to pass civil unions, he has previously stopped short of endorsing marriage equality. That changed this week when he released the following statement:
We have advocated for equal rights for all Coloradans and we will continue to advocate for equal rights for all Coloradans. Last year, Colorado took a historic step forward when we passed bipartisan legislation recognizing civil unions. If all men and women truly have the inalienable right to pursue happiness, and if all people are created equal, then by extension of law, logic, and love, every adult couple should also have the freedom to join in marriage. - Think Progress, 3/5/14
