1) You do realize when we raise the Debt Ceiling, we are only paying for the things Congress has already authorized, don't you?
It's not for paying for Future stuff; it's for our past bills, racked up in the previous year.
2) Do you think we each deserve to collect Social Security someday, especially considering all the FICA Taxes we've all paid over the years?
The Social Security Trust Fund has a $3 Trillion surplus -- backed by the "full faith and credit" of the U.S. Treasury.
3) Who do you think should fix our roads, and bridges, and water mains, and parks, and public transportation system -- if not for Public Works projects?
The WPA (Works Project Administration) was one of FDR's best accomplishments, which helped the economy grow its way our of the Great Depression, while at the same time improving our overall quality of life.
4) If you get rid of Regulations -- what will keep our air and water clean, our food safe, our utility bills down to earth?
If the "invisible hand of the market" actually protected us, in real life -- we never would have needed these Regulations in the first place.
5) In a civilized society like ours, that values progress and science and innovation -- shouldn't everyone have a right to a quality, affordable Education?
For America remain competitive on the world stage, America's students must remain competitive among the world's classrooms
