100% disagree with suggesting that criticism of one's political party or country is disloyal or unpatriotic.

100% disagree with questioning why those who would do so don't leave the site or the country.

100% disagree with making divisive rants that could work to muzzle dissenting progressive voices or restrain a free and open exchange of progressive ideas.

100% disagree with making oversimplifications that may misrepresent nuanced positions.

100% disagree with telling people who lapse into hyperbole to express disappointment with what they may view as a Democratic politician's display of a lack of commitment to Democratic principles to go to a conservative site. For egregious offenses of that nature that may inadvertently reflect Republican talking points, we have the Hide Rate option.

100% disagree with making allegations against other users without providing any evidence or context so people can make their own determinations. (I acknowledge being guilty of that here, but I feel the problem needs to be pointed out and addressed.)

100% disagree with placing what is best for our party over what is best for our country.

100% disagree with groupthink.

It is doubtful I did anything to precipitate the diatribe, but, frankly, I was pretty disgusted by it. Still, I hope that all the good people here who felt the same don't choose to follow a recent example, and decide to stay and fight on. DKos and the Democratic Party need more and better Democrats now as much as ever.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:

Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

expiatory act of a person or group's penance for atonement of sins and path to sanctity.

I would much prefer some (as in a whole bunch of) motivational speakers. Instead.

Now they have the 2nd (safety net for sloppy) Amendment, and can't be infringed to actually treat their gun like a gun and not a video game controller.

because it relates to something I neglected to add.

I felt the piece in question came across as somewhat sanctimonious, and I hoped to avoid giving that appearance here. I have respect for the author even if I don't always agree, and simply think it was a mistake to publish her objections in the fashion it was. While there was some validity to them, there were better ways of presenting a case. In time, perhaps that might be realized, where it hasn't already been.

Anyhow, I agree. Motivation is certainly preferable to flagellation and purges. And maybe what would motivate and encourage more Democrats is more action by our elected officials to back their words.

but that would be bad don't cha know ,
some might feel intimidated and then freak out .

And you bring up the problem confronted, although--correct me if I'm wrong--I believe it's only in diaries such links are frowned upon.

I could post links to things said in the past that would show the truth but it might intimidate some people and cause them to freak out . So I will not be using the search function provided by this site to its users , I will not bring up anything that has been posted by anyone before , oh well ...

For example, one might provide a link to a certain sycophant that goes out of their way to cause trouble for others they don't like, but that might embarrass or intimidate some people and cause them to freak out. One could try the search function provided by this site to its users, if one has the time to devote a significant chunk of their life to discovering the truth. But even that wouldn't help, because they would never know for sure who or what was being specifically referenced.

Fill out this survey, for I want you to be happy.

The Master put the survey into the toaster.

The leader of the other sect got all up in his grill and said:

I will not bring up anything that has been posted.

The Master said: I want the toaster to be happy as well.
