Oh really?

U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, a Bloomfield Hills Democrat running for the U.S. Senate, blasted the abortion insurance law when it took effect and is scheduled to discuss the measure on Thursday morning in Lansing. He'll be joined by state Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer and Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum.
"As the father of two daughters, I struggle with how to tell them that the state we love and where our family has been for generations is now unfairly discriminating against them and makes health care less affordable," Peters said in a statement last week.
Right to Life of Michigan, which spearheaded the petition drive to put the insurance proposal back before the state Legislature after a veto by Republican Gov. Rick Snyder, launched a new web page on Tuesday highlighting Peters' "position on abortion and other life issues."
The anti-abortion group's political action committee has already endorsed Republican Terri Lynn Land for the Senate. She has not directly discussed the law.
Peters "wants to make sure abortion is accessible and cheap for his daughters," according to the website, which cites a tweet he made about his family earlier this year on the 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade and his recent comments about the abortion insurance law.
A Right to Life spokesperson, asked about the website and the reference to Peters' daughters, noted that the candidate has brought them up on several occasions while discussing abortion issues. The group often endorses candidates and informs supporters about their opponents. - MLive, 3/19/14
That's pretty weak sauce to me. Plus it's pretty hypocritical of Right To Life to go after Peters' when they're own candidate won't even say where she stands on the rape insurance law:

But so far, former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land (R) has stayed quiet on the issue. She has refrained from releasing a public statement and her campaign did not return multiple requests for comment from TPM.
The law, the Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act, forces women and employers to buy an extra insurance rider to cover abortions even in the case of rape and incest. The law, which was previously vetoed by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder's (R), was passed by the Republican-controlled House and Senate to become law. A constitutional provision allows petitioners to send laws directly to the state legislature and circumvent the governor's approval.
The Republican Party is taking pains to make sure their candidates don't make mistakes in handling controversial issues like abortion. Recently the National Republican Congressional Committee met with incumbent candidates' aides to discuss how to handle such topics and avoid a situation like with Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), who asserted women could "shut down" a pregnancy naturally in the case of a "legitimate rape."
Peters seems be ready to capitalize on any possible GOP gaffe on the Michigan law, coming out strong against the measure.
"This law does not represent Michigan. It is not right. It is not just. And I promise to my daughters and to families across Michigan, your voice will be heard," Peters continued in an email to supporters. "We will fight back."
Though Land hasn't commented on the Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act, she has been endorsed by Michigan Right to Life, which backed the law and collected over 300,000 signatures from Michigan voters to trigger a vote. - TPM, 12/17/13
But this is a sign that right wing groups are getting desperate in their attacks against Peters. Their attack ads about Peters' support for the Affordable Care Act have backfired on them:

Americans for Prosperity, the conservative advocacy group being challenged by Democrats over the content of its ads attacking the health care law, is pushing back with a new commercial that will begin airing Tuesday in Michigan.
The commercial features Julie Boonstra, a Michigan woman who was the subject of an earlier ad, in which she said she had lost the health plan that she preferred for treatment of her leukemia and was facing higher costs because of the health care law.
Lawyers for Representative Gary Peters, a Democrat who is seeking Michigan’s open Senate seat, wrote to television stations asking them to demand verification for the claims in the initial commercial, touching off a wider fight with Republicans over whether Democrats were trying to muzzle Ms. Boonstra.
In the new ad, Ms. Boonstra says the attacks on her credibility have been devastating and accuses Mr. Peters of trying to silence her. “All I want is to be listened to,” she says in the commercial. “There are thousands of people out there who are hurting because of Obamacare.”
Supporters of the law have challenged the details of Ms. Boonstra’s case, as well as those of other individuals profiled in ads by Americans for Prosperity, saying the group is distorting the law’s impact to build opposition to it and to increase the standing of Republican Senate candidates. - New York Times, 3/3/14
Not to mention Land is looking a lot like Mitt Romney (R. MA) who lost Michigan in 2012:

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Gary Peters sought to put his Republican opponent, Terri Land, on the defensive Monday by highlighting her 2012 opposition to the federal auto bailout, which is credited with saving the industry and is popular with Michigan voters.
The third-term congressman and other Democrats drew attention to statements Land made at a Republican National Convention event two years ago in which she backed GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s anti-bailout position. Asked about Romney and the bailout, she said “I’m with him on that” and noted that Ford survived without the rescue package that went to General Motors and Chrysler.
“Michiganders deserve to know the truth — that when the rest of the country and plenty of politicians wanted to turn their back on us and let our auto industry and our middle class fail, Ms. Terri Lynn Land sided with them instead of standing up for us,” Peters said in a news release. He also played up Land’s opposition to the bailout at a campaign event with the United Auto Workers in Sterling Heights on Monday.
After writing a 2008 newspaper column with the fateful “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” headline, Romney, who supported a “managed bankruptcy,” struggled to gain a footing in the industrial Midwest where auto manufacturing is crucial. In Michigan, which has more auto industry-related jobs than any other state, Democrats are hoping Land pays a similar price in the tight race to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Carl Levin — a contest that will factor into which party controls the Senate. - CBS Detroit, 3/3/14
And not even Chris Christie (R. NJ) can help her out:

Dozens of protesters waved signs outside a Republican fund-raising event Wednesday morning at a Bloomfield Hills country club, where N.J. Gov. Chris Christie was said to be in attendance.
The event at Oakland Hills Country Club was closed to the public, and Democratic protesters kept to the sidewalks. They walked for nearly an hour with signs including messages such as “Meet with us! Not Christie” and “We want a straight talker, not a bridge blocker.” The group quickly dispersed at about 10:45 a.m. as it started to rain.
A spokesman with the Michigan Republican Party said the party wasn’t involved with organizing the event. Staff with Gov. Christie’s office referred the Free Press’ request for comment to the Republican Governors Association, which Christie chairs. The association passed along a spokesperson’s e-mail address.
Police guarding the entrance to the event said media were not allowed access.
Garrett Arwa, executive director of the Michigan Democratic Party, which organized the protest, said the party wants Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land to answer their questions.
“These are hard-working Michiganders who want to know why Terri Lynn Land not only refuses to attend public events and answer some very direct questions. ... But instead of having a public event, she brings in the poster boy for political cronyism and corruption into this state to raise money,” said Arwa. - Detroit Free Press, 3/19/14
It's no wonder Peters is leading Land in the polls:
http://www.mlive.com/...
If the election were held now, 39.7 percent of the people asked would vote for Peters and 36.7 percent for Land, according to a poll paid for by Lambert, Edwards & Associates and conducted by Denno Research.
The results are within the margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
The remaining 21.7 percent said they are unsure, while 2 percent had another candidate in mind.
The poll surveyed 600 likely voters on March 8 and 9 across Michigan. Of those polled, 20 percent included cell phone calls. - MLive, 3/17/14
Of course that doesn't mean the GOP, Right To Life and the Koch Brothers aren't going to stop lying in their attacks against Peters. They know they have a weak candidate so attacking Peters is the only way to go. So lets make sure Peters has the resources to fight back.
