In a symbolic protest former Idaho State Senator Nicole LeFavour hid in the closet on the Senate floor. She was discovered there and told to leave by the speaker.
Since she was formerly seated her presence was in no way a legal violation as floor privledges are automatic.

“I have no further comment,” former state senator Nicole LeFavour wrote on her Facebook wall about the article by the Idaho Statesman chronicling her latest protest. Nicole spent between five and six hours hiding in a senate coat closet yesterday, in a visual metaphor for the plight of so many gay, lesbian and trans citizens of Idaho who are forced to live “in the closet” because they fear they will lose their job, or their housing, if they come out. Nicole told reporters:
“Closets are never safe for gay or transgender people.”
Nicole LaFavour, (left) a lesbian, was the first openly LGBT member of the Idaho senate, where she served for four terms before leaving to make an unsuccessful run for congress in 2012. The former senator has been leading the “Add The Four Words” campaign to amend Idaho’s non-discrimination law to include sexual orientation and gender identity. She has been arrested several times during the protests for blocking the senate chamber door.
Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis told the Statesman that the senate was “at ease” when an aide discovered someone hiding in a coat closet. That someone turned out to be Nicole LeFavour. Senate President Pro-Tem Brent Hill asked her to leave before security arrived.
