If we, as democrats, are ever going to escape the "Democrats in Disarray" narrative that is being trotted out by teevee news pundits once again, there is an essential story that needs to be told to the voters.
Obamacare is helping people and saving lives. Liberal ideas are helping people and saving lives. All of this, without the support of Republicans in Congress.
I want to hear this every day, from every Democratic politician, media strategist, every public facing piece of the Democratic party needs to stand up and take credit where credit is due. You are in the process of making one of the most dramatic and necessary reforms of the 21st century. You have saved and will save the lives of thousands, if not millions. Pick your head up, stand up tall, and scream it from the rooftops, knuckle-dragging opposition be damned.
Seriously Dems, this one is yours to lose. The media may be in full "Dems in Disarray" mode, but this one is much more even than Republicans and their shills in the media care to admit. They know it can go either way, and they know that Obamacare will either be a boon to the dems, or an anchor tied right around our necks. Instead of ceding ground to the cretins, why not stand up and say "Oh fuck yes I voted for it, and it was a big fucking deal, still is" and PROVE why it is a big fucking deal. Get out there and sell this thing damnit!
There are tons of people out there who don't even know what Obamacare is or does, and how it benefits them. Don't skulk in the shadows and pretend as if the vote never happened. Get out there, get your team out there, and make sure that every single voter knows exactly the source of this newly found, totally fucking awesome health care is.
And then, when you do fucking ROMP this election, realize that progressive issues are winning issues and stop running away from them. Face it, folks, there is still tons of progress to be made -- we are for sure not where we are at when we imagined this era in politics unfolding. So when you do kill the thugs at the polls, tell the story of how you won. And not only that, remember the ideals, platforms, and most of all, the policies which inspired your win. Do your job, do what the voters wanted you to do, and enact progressive policies. Pro union, pro peace, pro freedom and democracy.
The field is rife, ladies and gentlemen, for progressive ideals. Voters are sick and tired of the same old bullshit, pro-1%, anti-progress bullshit out there. You wanna win? Be proud.
