Shortly after shooting a homeless man who was turning away Albuquerque police have killed yet again.
Hours after hundreds protested the Albuquerque Police Department’s use of force Tuesday evening, officers opened fire on a man near Central and Coors. The man died at the hospital, police said Wednesday morning.
He becomes the 23rd man since 2010 shot and killed by Albuquerque Police, which is being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice for its use of force.
As usual, the police claim that the killed man fired shots at them, despite the fact that no witnesses corroborate that claim.
Add to that the "bounty system" that the police union has, paying $500 to an officer that shoots someone, and you have a police department that has some profound problems.
And here I thought I'd leave this behind when I left Oakland.
