Five, Yes Five Reasons Democrats Are Going To Win The House Of Representatives In 2014
(and none of them have to do with polls that show Dems leading by 2.5% but they do explain said lead & why it will grow)
"I wanna thank God, Nancy Pelosi,
Harry Reid and Barack "Mutherfuckin'" Obama
for My ACA"
POLICY IS SHIFTING PARTY AFFILIATIONS
Core Democratic policy leads the way whenever tested as individual policy points. Whether it is national gun checks or national mimimum wage, Americans agree with Dems on just about every issue. Ballot initiatives will make this choice clearer in several important battleground states. Lurching ever farther away from science in education and legislation has pushed more of the Grand Old Parties best and brightest into the progressive camp while a smaller number of Team Blues' knuckleheads have crossed over to the dark side. The registration and party affiliation gapes are measurably widening year by year. It doesn't help that their staunchest supporters die off even faster.
I WANT MY MEDICAID
We are seeing groundswells of genuine grassroots activism to push ACA's Medicaid expansion in 24 states that have been left behind. This means thousands of people, often organized, pushing the message into markets large and small that the GOP, and specifically their local GOP, are blocking access to care every Ameriacan is already paying for. The exchanges are a boon to the self employed and Medicaid expansion is a godsend to the rural poor, both usually Red stalwarts.
VOTING RIGHTS ACT
Markos recently highlighted how important the African American vote is for Democrats: If they show up Blues win. Gutting the Voting Rights Act is a kick in the stomach to every American but it specifically is aimed a blacks. The Republican victory lap on this issue is pronounced in the districts it most affects. History has shown us since the 60s that minority turnout can be inspired. Long term the VRA needs to be restored, short term, it should be a rally cry to all minorities to go to the polls and make the change happen now.
FOLLOW THE MONEY
The best scoreboard for electoral support is cash and nobody is raising it like the DCCC this year. It shouldn't surprise us that Team Blue is leading in shear numbers of contributions, we usually rake in small ball, but check out this revelation about the home run hitters:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Deep-pocketed donors are turning over multimillion-dollar checks to influence November's elections, and the sums raised by the national parties and their super PAC allies are already approaching the $1 billion mark, according to financial reports still being filed Tuesday evening.
...
Democrats, at least for the moment, seem to have a roughly 3-to-1 advantage over Republicans in cash raised and banked through independent groups, according to the early filings.
Of course we don't need Neil Tyson DeGrasse to tell us that dark matter makes up the majority of the universe and the Republicans have made Dark Money their preferred fuel. However one has to wonder how long Kochs and Adelsons will want to pour fortunes into the electoral black hole that has lost 3 of the past 4 popular congressional votes and 5 of the past 6 popular Presidential elections.
MR ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION
Thank God I found this constitution
here to blow my nose in.
I didn't make up that name, Speaker John Boehners Republican primary opponent did but it sure does fit, doesn't it? I have never seen a party leader so unpopular with his own constituencies, whether it be his caucus or the party hoi polloi. If the prize is having Speaker Boehner, Reds must be wondering what contest from hell they've won.
Democrats have a policy vision that builds a better nation, Republicans have a hatred of policy with a goal of no nation at all.

Make Yourself Feel Better - Kick A Republican Congressman To The Curb Today
Recently someone remarked that my use of the word "treasonous" was a little over the top when I wrote this:
Most of us live in safely carved Democratic or Republican districts. Thanks to gerrymandering far more are Red than would constitute a representative government. That is why in 2012 Americans gave 1.5Million more votes for Democrats in Congress and yet Republicans hold a huge majority in the lower house. This is nothing short of treasonous. If you live in an non competitive district you need to find a competitive purple district to adopt and help with.
Well to that I say, "KISS MY ASS!" These traitorous bastards have stolen my vote and a lot of yours out there. Thus we must fight that much harder. Currenty generic polling shows Blues over Reds by almost two points and yet the headlines are that we will get killed. Why? Because rats have rigged the system so much that we need a 6 point advantage to win back the House but we had that in October and we will have it again in November thanks to the ACA... thanks to Obamacare, so help wherever you can.
Erin McClelland's campaign would be a great place to start. The PA-12 is a purple district carved from the bones of Jason Altmire and Mark Critzes' old digs. Anyway those blue dogs are gone and this suburb of Pittsburgh is ready for a genuine progressive voice.
Erin will gladly kick Keith Rothfus' arse to the curb this November in your name
With Gerrymandering screwing over PA and many other states (Dems won the raw
congressional vote in PA by 75,000 and yet Republicans won 13 of 18 districts - seriously, where is the DOJ?) Dems who live in safe districts, safe D as well as safe R, need to pour cash and muscle into those purple districts that are, by and large, winnable. PA-12 is one of them so make yourself feel good and slip her a twenty today at
her ACT Blue site.
