Easter Edition
I attend church religiously…..twice a year. I always attend with Mrs. sp at Christmas and Easter, and so I did go today. It was and is enjoyable and though to be sure I am not religious I get inspired with the feelings of renewal and possibilities that accompany Easter. Surely the choice of Spring for Easter accords with many ancient celebrations and rituals with the intent of co-ordinating them with the "new" state religion of Christianity.
Yesterday I took my camera out to the yard to record and celebrate my secular Spring/Easter understanding of this optimistic time of year.
Chive flowers with Foxglove behind.
Mass of flowers (?) planted by Mrs. sp.
Rhubarb with Iris. We have more rhubarb than we can use.
Rosemary bush with California poppies in front. We planted that bush from a 4 inch pot and now it's 20 feet by 20 feet and we prune it often.
Cow next door. Redwoods to the right are on our property.
I tried to sneak up on this calf in order to take a close-up.
I went down to the lower stream bed which is filled with Calla Lilies.
And finally I'll present the spectacular Amaryllis Mrs. sp grew in the greenhouse and is now part of the arrangement outside the door.
I hope everyone had a good Easter filled with joy and promise.

Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who are caring and supportive of one another. So bring your stories, jokes, photos, funny pics, music, and interesting videos, as well as links—including quotations—to diaries, news stories, and books that you think this community would appreciate. Readers may notice that most who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but newcomers should not feel excluded. We welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
