Two weeks after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell
told a Kentucky newspaper that bringing jobs to the state is "not my job," his campaign on Tuesday released a new television ad saying the exact opposite.
The ad, which will run statewide, declares McConnell to be a job creating "hero," despite his declaration the contrary. Although it doesn't specifically address his remarks, it's a clear attempt to rebut criticism from his Democratic opponent, Kentucky Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes, who has gone after McConnell's "not my job" comment in a video of her own.
Now, with McConnell's campaign taking a different angle on job creation than the senator himself, Grimes can ask the question: Who do you believe—Mitch McConnell in his own words, or the voiceover talent his campaign pays to make him seem not so bad after all?
