Hello, Kossacks!
I've got some good news on the personal front. I've been doing sysadmin and development work for a bit over a decade now, and a lot of it has been for some very successful companies...when it comes to profit. While it's bittersweet to leave my current role, where I work with people who are seriously amazing and make me feel like the dumb person in the room at times (which means you're learning something!), I submitted my resignation to my current employer, effective June 6th.
Follow me below the fold and I'll tell you why.
I signed paperwork to join Change.org's Engineering team, starting June 9th, where I'll be helping with site performance and with the rollout of some exciting new stuff that's in the works.
So while I will seriously miss my current coworkers, I'm really looking forward to June 9th. After all, it's not every day you get the chance to change the world for a living.
I should have a new Everyday Magic out tomorrow or Thursday, too. Keep an eye out for it.
1:47 PM PT: Also, due to some changing schedules with my current position, by June 9th, I meant Monday. Sometimes, Change happens sooner than planned!
