Hello, Daily Kos! My name is Alec Faber, and I am a high school sophomore in Morris County, New Jersey. For years I have loved politics, and have sought to learn all I can about it. I have been extremely active in my high school chapter of the Morris Hills Junior State of America (or JSA), a student politics and debate organization, and I have traveled to Washington, Boston, and Princeton several times to debate and gain political experience. Every summer, this organization offers an opportunity to take AP Government and Politics at Georgetown University. Attending this program would give me a valuable item to put on my resume when applying for college, and allow me to gain experience with the American government that will be a great help to me as I seek to move up in the political world in the future. Placement in this program is competitive, and I was able to secure a spot for myself. However, the tuition for it is nearly $5000. The JSA Foundation did offer a generous scholarship of $1500, but that leaves me to raise more than $3000. That is why I am asking you to visit my fundraising page at
www.stayclassy.org/mrfabergoestowashington and donate to my cause today. No donation is too small, all assisstance is greatly appreciated, and be sure to share my link with your friends and family! With your help, I will get to Washington this summer! And if you have any questions about me or this program, feel free to ask in the comments.
