Call me a skeptic but does anyone else doubt that this seemingly innocuous idea is a lot more sinister than meets the eye? Apparently Whole Foods CEO John "Obamacare is fascism" Mackey and his team have come up with a strategy of turning or "powering" their employees into advocates.
This is such a good idea they want to share the good news in a Webinar with anyone else who might be interested. Their appeal in an email blast from SocialMediaToday is replicated below.
All sorts of questions come to mind such as how much choice will employees really have over whether they participate, how will they be compensated, how will performance be assessed, and on and on.
Anyone venture to guess whether the employees who can "reach an audience on social media that is 10x larger than what your brand is currently reaching" will be compensated anywhere near what their services are worth? Why don't we ask them?
