When last we visited the wiki site Conservapedia, we took a look at their entry for Albert Einstein's (and the world's most famous) equation: E=mc²
Since then I have returned periodically, to see the progress (haha!) of the site, as to their explanation of the equation.
They are still calling it "liberal claptrap"
Furthermore, the "discussion" on the topic ended over a year ago. It ended, not because of disinterest, or that consensus was reached, but because nearly all those who disagreed with Schlafly have since either been banned, or have "retired" from the site.
That's a short update to my last diary.
This diary shall deal with an exceedingly hilarious "essay" written by Schlafly himself, and is based on an "insight" that he had one day.
Each year the English language develops about a thousand new words. The King James Version of the Bible contains only about 8,000 different words;[1] many good words have developed since.
Conservative terms, expressing conservative insights, originate at a faster rate, and with much higher quality, than liberal terms. Conservative triumph over liberalism is thus inevitable.
Powerful new conservative terms have grown at a geometric rate, roughly doubling every century. For each new conservative term originating in the 1600s,[2] there are two new terms originating in the 1700s, four new terms in the 1800s, and eight new terms in the 1900s, for a pattern of "1-2-4-8". This demonstrates that the future is increasingly conservative.
I know, I know.................where to begin???
First off, he is calling the above, an "essay." That's NOT an excerpt above. That's the whole piece.
Secondly, Andy decides which words are "conservative" and which are "liberal" and then proceeds to "demonstrate" how more conservative words are originating lately, and thus FUTURE CONSERVATIVE HEGEMONY!!!!!
Here's a list of some of the words that he has decided are "conservative," together with his "explanation" (notice how not only the word choices are his, but also the definitions themselves):
a.m. - "a.m." means "before noon" in Latin (ante meridiem); it became popular much as "A.D." did. Also, a morning work ethic is a conservative concept.
accuracy - conservatives strive for accuracy, while many liberals are masters of deceit
activism - this differentiates conservatives from inactive people; this term might have originated in connection with Prohibition and efforts to pass the Eighteenth Amendment
altruism - selfless assistance of others; this also occurs in the animal kingdom, and is a counterexample to evolution
ED: And.......it's a French word
bag lady - a woman, typically unmarried, whose life tragically degenerated into a homeless existence of wandering in a city while carrying bags of worthless possessions
brainwashing - derived from the Chinese term "xǐnǎo" soon after the communist takeover of China, "brainwashing" means forced abandonment of faith in favor of regimented atheism. In a more general sense, it refers to the manipulation and control of the human mind through torture and propaganda techniques.
carpetbagger - a politician who moves to a new area to be elected to a government position, as in Hillary Clinton moving to New York to become a U.S. Senator
ED: Or, rather, like Scott Brown moving to New Hampshire for the same purpose?
collectivism - when decision-making by a group takes priority over the good ideas of an individual, often preventing progress
conservation of charge - overall charge does not change in an isolated system; it is neither created nor destroyed; the concept was first suggested by Benjamin Franklin but the date of origin for this term is surprisingly recent
copyright - extending private property to protect expressive works
ED: (Um, US Copyright law was introduced in the United States Senate as S.22 by Senator John Little McClellan (D-AR) on January 15, 1975)
counter-reformation - a movement in response to another movement, as in a counter-reformation to the homosexual agenda
cover-up - concealment by government officials of the truth about a matter of public concern
ED: You know, like Richard M. Nixon and Watergate
crystal clear - liberals are the opposite
decrypt - military code-breaking, which played an instrumental role in World War II in deciphering enemy codes that many felt were unbreakable; illustrates the "can do" approach of conservatism in a patriotic way
deflation - an increase in the value of savings
doublethink - a term first coined by George Orwell in his dystopian novel 1984; it means simultaneously holding contradictory beliefs, which is a characteristic of status worship
drifter - someone whose residency wanders about aimlessly, failing to become a permanent, productive member of any community
falsifiability - first emphasized by Karl Popper in 1934, this helps define science: if a proposition is false, then it can be shown to be false. If not, then the proposition is not scientific.
ED: Like what Creationism lacks?
forward-looking - planning for the future rather than dwelling on the past
greasy spoon - a free enterprise term for a small, cheap restaurant - which in many places is just what the public wants; reflects Jesus' Biblical scientific foreknowledge about the digestive system
inattentive - more than 150 years before the discovery in physics of the connection between attentiveness/observation and uncertainty/chaos, this conservative word cautioned against inattentiveness
inoculate - to safeguard against future harm by developing immunity against it. Sample usage: "Conservapedia inoculates against liberal claptrap."
intelligent design - coined in Darwin on Trial, a book by Philip Johnson, who is considered the father of the intelligent design movement and who co-founded the Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture in 1996
ED: see also.............."lacking in falsifiability"
junk science - the corruption of the scientific method to advance other, often political, goals (such as Global Warming)
ED: um, you misspelled "Intelligent Design"
labor camp - forced work prison
ED: also see - WalMart
life vest - a pro-life invention
mindset - close-minded point-of-view, typically in adherence to a liberal falsehood and often to the exclusion of Christ
newspeak - political or media expressions using circumlocution and euphemisms to disguise or distract from the truth; first coined by George Orwell in 1984
ED: did I forget to mention that Andy thinks Orwell was a closet Conservative?
organic food - a grassroots conservative response, led by mom-and-pop consumers and pharmacies, against government-approved pesticides and mandatory fluoridation
(!!!!!!!!??)
originality - Liberals not only lack originality, but (like Justice Hugo Black) are often hostile to its possibility.
parenting - children raising
ED: children raising................what?
recuse - self-removal by a decision-maker (especially a judge) because of possible bias with respect to the pending issue
ED: you know, like what Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia are famous for.
scrutinize - its original meaning was to examine votes, and thus prevent liberal attempts at voter fraud
trivia - insignificant detail, which can sometimes obscure what is important and distract people from the Bible; liberal Wikipedia is filled with trivial junk
uncertainty principle - an underlying chaos (uncertainty) at the atomic level in the physical world after the Fall of man, which renders a perpetual motion machine and life beyond 120 years impossible
This is as good an example as I can present, of a brain that has been denied the essential nutrients of critical thinking, intelligent conversation, and, well, knowledge. The tragic thing is that he has denied these things to himself.
Willful ignorance.
