Sen. Bernie Sanders told Conservatives: "If you can't afford to take care of your veterans, than don't go war. These people are bearing the brunt of what war is about, We have a moral obligation to support them." February, 26th, 2014

Now telling those same in congress slamming the Veterans Administration and especially Gen. Shinseki, to Put Up Or Shutup!!

05/29/14 - Sen. Sanders to bring back veterans bill GOP previously blocked

Rachel Maddow points out the willingness of Congress to push more money at the Pentagon than the Pentagon wants while under-funding veterans, and reports that Senator Bernie Sanders will bring back a veterans bill previously blocked by the GOP.

Saw tweet on the front page about if Shinseki resigns then so should numorous members of congress {strange that it's posted on this site there but giving me a 'Nope can't do' when I try to use the link for, or maybe not so strange, still don't understand why photo's etc. are blocked, in these now times of that's what everyone seems to do with the high tech gadgets and you can grab them from many sources, seems copyright shouldn't be a problem}

Adding to the 'tweet', limited characters, would be plenty more 'should resign' as to peoples representatives that have Obstructed Veterans' Administration Budgets. Obstructed the VA from modernizing thus costing less for those served. Voted nay because they didn't get the cuts from the Executive Administrations budget requests. Attack the VA civil servants, in hearings and public, for problems compounded because of the Conservative ideology wants to privatize the agency, for corporate profits from the peoples treasury and ability to legislate fee's for those corporate entities, creating those problems. Ignoring, along with those served they represent, the many problems from the decades and wars of, including the past decade plus and two more long occupations, to those few sent and if asked about only give 'patriotic' lip service to, where this VA administration along with help from the Executive Branch Cabinet is finally actually addressing and compensating the Veterans still alive but suffering from. Those not in the halls of Congress anymore should also be called out, along with the people represented, for their actions related to the Veterans that once served them, Now That's Patriotism!!!

Feb 27, 2014 - U.S. Senate Republicans block veterans' health bill on budget worry

Not funny them budget worries never were thought about as they rubber stamped All war costs, and related, for these still unpaid for two more long occupation theaters. Why they kept those multi billions off the books till the Executive Administrations changed. They were All borrowed as we had already sunk into deficit funding, still are and not only related to the wars, all government spending including the Veterans Administration, most of still borrowed with interest payments as well. They created a private merc army that quickly went to public investment corporation, as they also gave out no bid contracts to private war corporations with those in the know in government, congress and more, still investing on insider information. Little was done not only for the Veterans of and long ignored Veterans of previous wars but so was Military Care facilities ignored, i.e. Walter Reed and more along with living conditions at bases here for those sent from and back to after the multiple tours in either or both theaters.

9/23/2012 - Senate GOP Obstructionists Throw Veterans Under The Bus-Vote Down Bill To Help Vets In Need Of Jobs

December 18th, 2013 - Paul Ryan & the GOP Must Own the Cuts to Veterans Benefits

You can use the wayback google, or any, search machine, or the countries congressional record, to dig deeper in researching the Peoples Representative Government in relation to Veterans and for decades and wars of, but this following link offers some help, no links, to copy and use to search. If you use the congressional record look for bills passed that aren't funded, especially brought and supported by conservatives, oh so patriotic support the veterans while fishing for votes and looking strong on national defense issues, purpose later is to use in attacks on Veterans Administration personal in hearings and the country is none the wiser, including many veterans. You could probably get a list from your reps, sure they have one as a go to reference material in those hearings!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

We'll be back to where we were, especially if another (T), once (R), Executive Branch gets hired!!

And that's not only as to us older combat theater veterans, all veterans, but also as to these two wars of choice Veterans, issues have already been ignored by those served but Shinseki, with the help of the Cabinet are addressing those and those not ignored along with the many many many issues those served from the previous decades and wars from, Finally, not just giving the oh so patriotic speak by the hired pols if asked about or just denying them.

It is being built the way the country already should have, would have saved us tons in treasury capital, but without the country willing to pony up what they cheer on, wars aren't even paid for yet, through their representatives, federal and states while they wave their flags, that rebuilding causes problems that greatly compound but more are being taken care of!

Getting rid of Shinseki, a long want since appointed because he's Actually doing in the only Government Branch that is, the Executive, making them look like what they are and causing the spin machine propaganda working harder to make it look like it isn't them, will not fix, it's the easy out for politics that have no direction for the country and society!!!!!

  •  The rightwing has allowed the VA to drown (7+ / 0-)

in backlogs because it's not privatized and doesn't donate to their election campaigns.  Further, it's kinda socialistic in its operations, and if it's efficient, well, what does that say about laissez faire?  Here in the US everything is for sale including morals, principles and obligations.
What happened to the caliber of representatives that gave vets the GI Bill, a reasonable recompense for their service, after bringing them home to carry lifelong nightmares from WWII?  Cheesys, the vets have had to fight at home as well as abroad to get a modicum of what they and their families are owed.

Would anyone want to go on the FOX, hell I'm surprised, really, anyone still tunes in, and those conservatives who don't like the constant lies don't speak out so they label themselves as supporters of it all, and vote that way!!!!

Actually the whole freakin media, guilty as sin as to the previous policies and not demanding everyone should have Sacrificed long ago while beating the drums now in FOX speak at Shinseki showing none have a clue as to what's been going on in the VA administration these past five years, see what and how reported when Bernie brings it back for a vote and it isn't overwhelmingly voted up!!

      That oughta be real interesting!!

  •  The Republicans brought us Iraq and Afghanistan, (4+ / 0-)

and now run away from the obligations as a nation to take care of those that gave.  There was a large and sudden influx of veterans post Iraq and Afghanistan which was never taken in to account regarding the then present state and condition of the VA system.  Better medical care in the field, and now the awareness of the P.T.S.D. problems requiring rehabilitation for these vets have pushed the VA system way past its' capacity for handling all that were in the system prior, and those that are now in need of care.

On top of that, they just love to deny the monies to take of those that they happily sent into harms way.

    Pathetic.
