paradise50's community quilt
When paradise50 was diagnosed with throat cancer, his wife, smileycreek contacted me about having a community quilt made for him. Both he and she both knew going in that the treatment for this kind of cancer would be a painful ordeal -- but that he would have a good chance for recovery once he had completed it. Smileycreek wanted to support her husband's spirit through the treatment -- and what better way than with a tangible reminder of his friends' love and respect for p50 in the form of a community quilt. Paradise50 did complete the whole ordeal with great inner strength and determination and he has healed really well from the whole thing and is now free of the cancer. The man is a remarkable healer, himself, so this is not surprising -- but what an arduous journey it was for him and for smileycreek. It was an honor for Ann and me to make his quilt to help along the way and his many friends were delighted to be a part of it.
