Nehalem Bay State Park is located off the scenic Highway 101 in Oregon on a sand spit which has the Pacific Ocean on one side and a bay on the other. Historically, this was an area utilized by the Nehalem-Tillamook Indians for millennia prior to the European invasion. There are hiking trails which lead across the spit: one can hike from the ocean to the bay. Photographs taken from one of these trails are found below the orange pretzel.
