So, let me see if I get this straight: we are going to ask our young people to volunteer for military service with the understanding that if, for reasons not approved in advance by Ted Cruz or John McCain, they become captives of an enemy force, they will just have to stay captive until our side can comes up with some number of dead [evidently the only kind not a threat to return to the battle field, if Senators Cruz/McCain are to be listened to] enemy captives in our custody to swap them for.
I guess this makes sense to some folks, however, I can't decide which of the parties will be most thrilled to sign onto this plan: our potential Army volunteers willing to be held prisoner for years until a few self-selected Senators - not the Commander-in-Chief - approve a prisoner swap....or the Taliban having to decide how many corpses need to be repatriated before releasing our people.
