It's time again to ask for volunteers for the weekly D'var Torah diaries. We survived Leviticus and are about to begin several weeks of some of the more interesting Bible stories, so why not give it a try? Here are the next five weeks:
June 14: Shabbat Shelack Lecha, Torah reading Numbers chapters 13 to 15, Haftarah reading Joshua 2: 1-24. And you thought the NSA and the CIA could mess up an intelligence operation. BoogieMama
June 21: Shabbat Korak, Torah reading Numbers chapters 16 to 18, Haftarah reading First Samuel 11:14 to 12:22. The great revolt is suppressed.
June 28: Shabbat Chukat, and Rosh Hodesh (new month of) Tammuz. Torah readings Numbers chapters 19 to 22:1 and Numbers 28: 9-15, Haftarah reading (special for Rosh Hodesh) Isaiah chapter 66 with next to last verse repeated to end on a happy note. July 5: Shabbat Balak, Torah reading Numbers 22:2 to 25:9, Haftarah reading Micah 5:6 to 6:8. And who ever heard of a talking donkey? awesumtenor
July 12: Shabbat Pinchas, Torah reading Numbers 25:10 to 30:1, Haftarah reading First Kings 18:46 to 19:21. charliehall2
