Allen West
Allen West is not impressed by the capture of Benghazi suspect Ahmed Abu Khatallah. According to the former House member and current Fox News contributor, Abu Khatallah's arrest is a "wag the dog thing" to distract from Iraq and Bowe Bergdahl. Abu Khatallah himself is, West says, "the Obama administration's fall guy." West's rhetorical question to Fox viewers is "now all of a sudden the American people are supposed to believe that he is the mastermind?"
Funny story. Here's a letter co-signed by West on January 6:
Not a single terrorist in this well-planned and executed military attack by radical Islamists has been apprehended. Ahmed Abu Khattala, a ringleader of the attack, granted long interviews to reporters in Benghazi cafes, while the Obama administration -- and you -- have done nothing.
Man, Abu Khatallah went from being a ringleader to a wag-the-dog fall guy in less than six months. Actually, scratch that. He went from being a ringleader to a wag-the-dog fall guy in the time it took for Allen West to hear that he was in U.S. government custody.
West also took time on Fox to describe the maker of an anti-Islam online video as a "poor guy" who was, like Ahmed Abu Khatallah, an Obama administration fall guy. But according to a New York Times report:
As the attack in Benghazi was unfolding a few hours later, Mr. Abu Khattala told fellow Islamist fighters and others that the assault was retaliation for the same insulting video, according to people who heard him.
Does Allen West ever make himself dizzy with his shifting accusations and, uh, unstable relationship with facts?
