Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
Pamena tossed this link to me this morning, as I've just maxed out my main's Engineering and macroed in the DPS tinkers and am looking to improve my raid utility.
For you Engineers out there, this makes a nice little end-of-expac project. The most annoying part of doing this is tracking down all the schematics for the various disposable lower-level repair bots you'll need to build to make these.
Although it occurs to me, after spending the morning wandering lost in Blackrock Depths, that my other Engineer, Shamwowloner, has all of these schematics already and can build the repair bots and send them over - thus leaving me only to find the Jeeves one.
While poking around at that link, I also found a link to Wowhead's Character Planner. I like how it thinks I'll ever go back to Azuremyst Isle or Tol Barad ever again. You keep dreaming, Character Planner.
Anyway, I'm finding that helpful in combating the doldrums, and I hope these will help you too.
Here's the Flexorama and Team Kaels report from Ninotchka:
I set up a special treat for myself for this week’s flex-o-rama run. I’ve been tanking the flex runs since Siege of Orgrimmar came out, and I haven’t taken the time yet this expansion to really work on any of my other characters. Well, I dusted off my mage and got her into Timeless Isle gear but I’m still pretty terrible at playing mage. The flex group graciously agreed to carry my incompetent ass through the first two wings in this week’s flex run. And then. Boom! 6:00 in the evening, my internet died. I got a message to Tay and the flex run started without me. Finally at about 8:45 I was connected back with the rest of the world, and was able to get in just in time to kill the Sha. We made it through Galakras, Juggernaut and Shamans before the group called it a night. It was wonderful, thank you everybody for bringing me along. Yes, my dps was as embarrassing as I thought it would be.
Team Kaels misses our favorite disc priest, who is busy off getting married to the warlock of her dreams. Rockchalk came in as a substitute on Wednesday and we knocked down a few heroic bosses for him, but 2-healing fights that we’re used to 3-healing is (I am told) an interesting challenge and we sorely miss mass dispel. And we miss Chanta’s bubbly personality a lot as well. Last week, after sending Iron Juggernaut to the junkyard we made some good progress on heroic Shamans. We had been trying the fight the old way, two tanks and white-knuckled healers, and it wasn’t going so well. So Snuffy brought in his warrior and we tried separating the two bosses, and it was going much cleaner. We’ve gotten close to bloodlust phase a few times now, so it’s just a matter of getting our rhythm right.

And here's the Team RP report from Pamena:
Team RP has still basically been on hiatus while Corwynn was gone the last two weeks, doing fun and alt runs of various places. Monday night, we intended to try heroic Norushen, but Mageartin was unexpectedly unable to be there, and we were not going to try it without him, so we ended up taking the night off. We'll try heroic Noru tonight if we can get everyone in. I was feeling guilty about cancelling Monday's run, so I organized a little group of 6 or 7 people who were on to try a guild LFR. Well. Monday Night LFR was just as bad as we all thought - we zoned in on the docks at Galakras to see skeletons piled everywhere, 3 stacks of determination and only 1 tank in the raid. The group was foul mouthed and restless, and didn't want to wait for another tank, several of them noting that our warlock Lynera had more HP than the tank and suggesting he tank. Then, boom, somebody pulled without warning - most our group bailed at that point, although Lynera stayed and reported that after that wipe, the replacements managed to get Galakras down. Nonetheless, lesson learned: no more Monday night LFR for me! |
This is why the more printable of the things I call
LFR is
Let's
Fail
Repeatedly.
That's all I have this week. For the Horde!
