I am so sorry that I haven't been able to write about the farm or post any photographs for a while.
But it's been pretty busy.
At the beginning of the month we were able to finish the first step in getting the Syrian family registered as refugees. They were a bit apprehensive about the process, dealing with the police and government officials and all that, but it went well and now they are much more relaxed knowing that they now have legal status.
The second and I think much easier step will probably be next week. And then we can get started on the children's immunizations and registrations to go to school this September.
Then last week my son came to Antalya and went to the dentist. She did the usual full mouth x-ray that they do and found this bigass cyst (about 2.5 cm / 1 inch round) on my son's jawbone.
She said it had to be taken care of pronto and called one of her friends, a surgeon who teaches this kind of medicine at the medical university. He came and took a look and we all agreed that it had to go. And it did.
They performed the surgery, dug the cyst out, put in some material that's supposed to help the bone grow back, and sewed him up. And my son and I have been in Antalya since then so that he could recuperate.
Before the surgery he was full of that special kind of bravado of the young, 'I'll have the surgery, rest for a day, and then go back to the farm.'
I smiled.
We'll be back on the farm this weekend, 11 days later. :)
And, hopefully, I'll be able to get back to the photographs and news from the farm next week!
