Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
So Team Z was victorious against the Paragons - now all they need to do is kill Garrosh. But I'll let Tvath tell you about it:
Team Z celebrated the coming of summer by killing the Paragons of the Klaxxi! We had originally gone into this fight a trifle overconfident, and this time we were determined to show those bugs who was boss. It was Tónyharrison who gave us the push we needed by telling us how to avoid the parasite mechanic at the beginning -- instead of having the tanks keep up their damage mitigation, we just let the bugs do their worst, relying on our three healers to keep them alive. Parasites never spawned, and boom! we were ready to move on with the rest of the fight. After that it was a matter of learning the dance, a process we have been through many times before. Special thanks to Callestina and Vanillapie for subbing in for absent team members.
Now on to Garrosh! But, having had the benefit of advice from Teams RubiPam and Kaels, we will first spend a few weeks farming up better gear for everyone. This fight is going to require every advantage we can bring to the table.
Also, if you happen to find a spare Paper Zeppelin in your bags, throw it to Crakzert. I hear he really likes them.

Here's Mageartin with the Saturday Night Massacre report:
SNM: Continuing on my whirlwind tour through all the achieves, we went to 25 player Trial of the Crusader. There are a few achieves here, and an overall one with no rewards for the bosses. Our first try for the first achieve [Upper Back Pain (25 player)] failed due to a pet killing a kobold, and we decided to wipe and try again. This caused much hilarity as the boss had to kill us one at a time, and very slowly. We regrouped and went back and this time a totem foiled the achieve. Screw it, lets just go on, and we did, racking up a few more achieves and [Call of the Crusade (25 player)].

Here's the Team Kaels and Flexorama report from Ninotchka:
The flexorama continues to inspire me with their generosity, dragging my undergeared mage along for another tour of the early wings this past week. There are limits to anyone’s generosity, however, and next week we’re back to killing Garrosh and hoping for heirlooms to take our toons to 100 next expansion. My policy on the last wing of flexorama is that any level 90 guildie is welcome for the first two bosses but I impose an item level/dps limit for the last boss because gear makes that fight so much easier – many undergeared toons will be one-shot in the first phase without stellar cooldown management or outside help.
In Team Kaels news, we continue to miss Chanta while she is off on her honeymoon, but we are forging onwards nevertheless. We are very grateful to Crakzert for helping us on Tuesday night and quickly picking up on the differences between normal and heroic modes of the fights despite somewhat haphazard explanations from us. “Oh yeah, wasn’t somebody going to tell him about dispels?” He rose to the occasion and we knocked over 4 heroic bosses, probably could have done 5 or 6 if I hadn’t been having a bad arthritis day and asked to go to bed early.

And finally, the Team RP report courtesy of Pamena:
Team RP report:
Thursday night, we were at full strength, with a lockout up to Norushen, and with Rubi able to join us, went for it on heroic. I brought in Senta my mage, thinking that now that she had the cloak she would do more damage than Pamena's shadow spec, and at first it seemed like it was clicking - we got him down to 3% on our first pull. But then, as the evening wore on, things deteriorated a bit - the fight is not very much different on heroic, but perhaps we'd gotten used to mowing him down on normal and weren't quite mentally prepared for a harder kill. Finally, I decided Senta was not ready for prime time, and switched to Pamena's shadow - I think the dots helped make a difference because after a couple more pulls, boom Norushen was dead and Team RP has its first heroic Siege boss down! Monday night we farmed, as no one felt like trying any of the later bosses on heroic yet, but tonight, if we have the right complement of dps and heals, we will try Immersius on heroic.

That's all I have this week.
For the Horde!
