As I understand it, one of the purposes of The Affordable Health Care Act was to accomplish it's title - making health care more affordable.
One of the ways we are told health care becomes more affordable is when more people, either as individuals or through groups, enter into the pool. That seems to be proving itself out as data comes in from both the states and the insurance companies.
Simple solution: Insurance companies continue to offer the policies they have under The Affordable Health Care Act (and to which more and more insurance companies are trying to quickly jump onboard).
Same premiums for all. Create a separate pool for objecting corporations and Wheaton College. Higher premiums because this religious fanatic pool is smaller. Yes, they would be paying higher premiums for the convenience of restricted member service.
Will the Scalia Court then rule that private insurance companies will be ordered to cover people?
Can insurance companies with a public health conscience refuse to offer health care which discriminates against women?
Just a weird idea which popped into my head this afternoon.
