In this series I note what I am reading and people comment with what they're reading. Sometimes, on Sundays, I post a special edition on a particular genre or topic.

I've written some book reviews on Yahoo Voices:

Everything I need to know about __ I learned from Monty Python" by Brian Cogen. The Monty Python crew weren't just funny, they were very smart and knowledgeable (the five English members all went to Oxford or Cambridge) and they used that in their skits. This book shows how.
Plato at the Googleplex by Rebecca Goldstein. Plato comes back to life. He's written some books and he's on a book tour. Stop 1 is the Googleplex, home of Google. Goldstein interweaves stories of Plato at various places with writing about why philosophy matters. Wonderful
Dialogues of Plato ; Plato wrote really well. I decided to re-read. I'm amazed that Socrates made it to 70.
Cut to the Bone By Jefferson Bass. "Jefferson Bass" is the pen name of a combination of two people: Writer and journalist Jon Jefferson and Bill Blass, PhD, a forensic anthropologist and founder of the Body Farm, where they study human decomposition in order to aid police investigations with things like time of death. Cut to the Bone is a prequel to the series, going back to 1992 and the founding of the Body Farm. As usual, there are grisly murders, personal threats and nice tight plotting.
My Usual Table by Colman Andrews. Colman Andrews is a food maven and restaurant reviewer. In this book, he looks back on his life and some of his iconic restaurants. Not all of these are, in his opinion, great restaurants and most of them are closed. Nevertheless, his writing has me hungry.
