I just sent this to (The Troubadour), David Harris Gershon, as a message to thank him for his post. These Beautiful Voices in Gaza Are Calling Out to Us.
You know I went crazy, when I heard about all of this!

I was already very upset about the three Israeli Teenagers being kidnapped and murdered.

All of this violence, in Israel and Gaza/Palestine, it's; so horrible, has to be stopped!

We have to have Peace In Israel And Palestine Now, Today.

I'm 1/2 Jewish. My Great-Grandfather was a Latvian, Orthodox Rabbi. I'm 1/2 Irish too.

hammas knows how to kill and get the Israeli gov't to act stupidly. hamas kills, gets Israeli gov't to act even worse.

All senseless. Why kidnap and kill innocent teenagers to begin with?

When will this stupidity stop? There needs to be some United Nations intervention into this. Immediately!

My Mother always said, "two wrongs don't make a right." *This goes for everyone. Muslim, Jew, no difference, except religion.

☮☮☮☮☮

All this violence really upsets me. I bet the Israeli citizen has about as much to say about stopping this, as we did with our presidents like, bush, nixon, etc. They speak out, but the Israeli government, like our previous administration ignores them. As for the Palestinians no one listens to them either.

This whole situation stinks.

Screw those who killed the teenagers, the 3 Jewish ones and the Palestinian young man too.

Note to hamas, plo, and Israel - Stop This Violence NOW! Agree to a lasting Peace.

Civilians, children and old people are not terrorists and should not be targeted.

Peace Is The Only Answer!

Hate your neighbors? But do it Peacefully.

☮PEACE☮ David☮
Thanks For Caring. In answer to your question. IMO; No, one is not anti-Semitic, because they care about the Israeli people's well being and that of innocent Palestinians.

This song illustrates the sadness shared by all. So many innocent victims!

My heart goes out to the people of Israel and Palestine. I pray for Peace for them.

They are all such victims; (Israeli Citizens), (as well as the Palestinians).

Assisting Jews in the Former Soviet Union since 1975

The Adopt A Bubbe Or Zayde Program reaches out to elderly Jews and the handicapped in Ukraine and Belarus. Providing food, medicine, bed linens, clothing, eyeglasses, hearing aids, utility payments, and other items for those unable to exist on their pensions.

Since the break up of the Soviet Union in 1991 with the resulting hyperinflation, pensions have become almost worthless.

At the same time, food, clothing, medicine and apartments are no longer subsidized by the government, and the prices for these have risen beyond the reach of most pensioners.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    Let us coexist in peace, all of us, and work to be good stewards of our planet and one another.

    I have always thought it was more fun to learn about other people's cultural and religious traditions than to be afraid of them or to hate them.

    It's not really St. Francis of Assisi, but it's still good:

       Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
        Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
        Where there is injury, pardon;
        Where there is discord, harmony;
        Where there is error, truth;
        Where there is doubt, faith;
        Where there is despair, hope;
        Where there is darkness, light;
        And where there is sadness, joy.

        O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek
        To be consoled as to console;
        To be understood as to understand;
        To be loved as to love.
        For it is in giving that we receive;
        It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
        And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

    SPES MEA IN DEO EST.

  •  A song of peace... (8+ / 0-)

        This is my song, O God of all the nations,
        a song of peace for lands afar and mine.
        This is my home, the country where my heart is;
        here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine;
        but other hearts in other lands are beating
        with hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.

        My country's skies are bluer than the ocean,
        and sunlight beams on cloverleaf and pine;
        but other lands have sunlight too, and clover,
        and skies are everywhere as blue as mine.
        O hear my song, thou God of all the nations,
        a song of peace for their land and for mine.

  •  A Song of Peace (6+ / 0-)

    Let the sun rise
    and give the morning light,
    the purest prayer
    will not bring us back.
    He whose candle was snuffed out
    and was buried in the dust,
    a bitter cry won't wake him,
    won't bring him back.
    Nobody will return us
    from the dead dark pit.
    Here, neither the joy of victory
    nor songs of praise
    will help.
    So sing only for peace,
    don't whisper a prayer,
    it's better to sing a song for peace
    with a giant shout!

    Let the sun penetrate
    through the flowers,
    don't look backward,
    leave those who have departed.
    Lift your eyes with hope
    not through the rifle sights
    sing a song for love
    and not for wars.
    Don't say the day will come,
    bring the day,
    because it is not a dream.
    And within all the city's squares,
    cheer for peace.
    And sing, sing a song for peace,
    don't whisper a prayer,
    it's better to sing a song for peace
    with a giant shout!

    SOMEBODY has to stop the cycle of violence.

    At this point, I'm long past caring who's right, or who's been hurt worse, or who has to stop doing what to whom before the other side will stop, or who has the "right" to defend themselves through acts of inhumanity that give the other side the "right" to defend themselves by doing acts of inhumanity.

    Children are dying.  Children are seeing their parents killed in front of them.  Children are afraid to go to sleep at night.  Children are watching their parents turn to hatred out of fear and anguish.

    I couldn't have said it better. There's something to be said for Peace, Love and understanding. It kills the root cause of violence.

    Heard an Israeli writer from Tel Aviv say that on the radio this morning, when listening to NPR.

    He's nailed it there.

    When you listen to the pre-demands before a cease fire coming from both sides...

    Each begins by saying they will not allow the other side to gain ANYTHING from this madness.

    As long as they keep to that - there is no end to things.

    That writer seemed to feel that the desire among everyone for peace is the very problem they face.

    Everyone prays to their god for peace... but non talk of compromise. They want the peace of god, and to burn hellfire down upon the other side.

    No one should ever sit down to a bargaining table unless they have first taken stalk of all the things they have and made sure they are actually willing to give some of them to the other side... If you have no place for compromise, your call for peace is anything but.

    Compromise is a dirty word.

    But its also the only one that actually ends violence and eventually unifies people.

    OMG, like, gag them with a multi-colored spoon. Like, ya know.

      Yeah; well, there has to be an end to things.

      All this violence is not the answer. Israel and it's Arab neighbors have to agree to Peace, Now!

      All the bloodshed and murder accomplishes nothing. So what's the point of it all??? Madness, is indeed an apt description of what  has been happening there for years, and is, still going on!
