I don't publish much becuase I wasn't thinking about user names very clearly. Telling Kos that he is wrong probably won't help. Some background to my thoughts. I was born and raised in Arizona. We used to be mostly blue but Del Webb started Sun City and that changed everything. After my military service we moved to Tucson. I finally ran out of reason to tell my wife no I don't want to move to Hawaii. I was always the smallest boy in my class. I was smart and was bullied (some of it was my fault) until the day I realized that ignoring the problem doesn't make it get better. More below the fold.
I stopped letting myself be bullied. I did this by confronting the bullies and the end result was all to often my beaten body being placed forcibly into the nearest trash can or locker. Day after day this went on until I wasn't being bullied anymore. Then if I saw one of my fellow victims being bullied I would charge into the fray once more. This resulted in a lot less bullying in my school.
This is where Kos is wrong about Phoenix. SB 1070 is not going away until enough people stand up and say No Mas. That is why Phoenix is an excellent choice for NN15 and the 2016 convention. It will bring back 1070 to the light and I don't think that is a bad thing.
Now for some false equivalence. Do you think civil rights would have advanced if the people said, "It's to dangerous, I can't go." It is false equivalence only becuase the people went to places like Selma and got beaten and killed becuase they believed in something. SB 1070 is about civil rights and ignoring Arizona only allows bigots and bullies free reign elsewhere.
I'm asking you to think about it. I love Arizona and would like for it to go back to the kind of place that could elect a Castro as Governor. Go Wildcats!
