Hello.  Meili here.  And now, for something completely different.

More beneath the Orange Kanji.

ABC7 News paid the former bus driver, Pamela Michener a visit.

“First of all, I’m not a racist … it’s just the opposite,” Michener said, before saying “Thank you for your time” and slamming the front door. I asked through the closed door about Michener’s use of the N word. “Well, what do you expect?” She answered. “My life is threatened, ok? I have people attacking me all the time. What do you expect?”
Glad we could clear that one up!  Someone might have been confused for a moment, there!

I apologize if this is a Pea Roast (repost).

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

It's not as if this scenario couldn't ever play out in one of the other 49 states.

a lot of negative publicity because it deserves a lot of publicity.

If you take a look at the type of "news" on fark.com, you'll see.

Good sig line, but I've already stolen too many.

"meaningful" and "mean" are not exactly the same thing.

One more time: Florida doesn't deserve publicity for containing the genus/species Stupidus Americanus, any more than the other 49 states and sundry territories and possessions do, for containing their own.

There are certain points in which the general "divide-em-up" motif becomes really desperate. The whole Bash Florida trope is probably Exhibit A. How silly that people continue to mindlessly push it.

            •  I know that Florida is great (0+ / 0-)

My husband was born there and used to go back to visit his mother and the beaches every few years. However, if you live in Florida, you have to take some action on a political level if you want its reputation to change. There are a lot of bad things going in in several Southern and Midwestern states and Florida is definitely one of them. Please don't take it so personally; think of it as an opportunity to get some outside help to turn that state to the Left. Between voter suppression, a weird legal system (Six jurors for a murder trial?????), bad educational system, bad foster care system, bad social services... I could go on. Florida, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia etc. are going to have bad reputations for a while.
