I've been thinking of heterosexual pornography as of late, and what to think of it. (Yes, I have too much time on my hands --- no pun intended)
It seems arguments can be grouped into three major camps, from a liberal perspective..... perhaps I am missing one or several, and I readily admit I could well be.
I write this to gain a view as to what everyone thinks of the topic, and to discuss something that I think has a lot of different branches (freedom of speech, freedom of expression, etc.)
So, anyways, the three "camps" I see are:
1) It is so widespread and "used" for lack of a better word and that everyone has a "right" to consume words and images within reason that as long as it does no harm who am I to interfere?
2) Any form of porn that includes women is an exploitation of women and thus is wrong and should be rejected.
3) Pornography actually gives women "control" of sexuality and thus is a good thing and encourages sexuality and its expression and should be provided openly.
Of course there would be shades of gray between these three areas, but I would think that these 3 are the central tenets that I can think of.
Are there others that exist that I am not considering?
Where would you place your views on the topic?
