Sometimes when Prosecutors, hem and haw, and drag their feet, and intentional smear the character of the victims of crimes -- crimes that they should be prosecuting -- those Prosecutors HAVE TO GO!

Here's your chance to 'add your voice' to that sentiment ...

State Senator Jamilah Nasheed Requests Special Prosecutor  Robert McCulloch Step Down In Brown Investigation (DETAILS)

by Christina Coleman, -- Aug 18, 2014

State Senator Jamilah Nasheed (D-St. Louis) requested that St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch recuse his office from the investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown so that a special prosecutor can be appointed to oversee the investigation.

In a two-page letter, Nasheed explains her call for action:

“This racially charged climate demands an independent investigation, and to be perfectly blunt, the African-American community has no confidence that your office can carry out an impartial investigation and prosecution.”

She cited several reasons for this lack of confidence, including McCullochs’ failure to bring charges against police officers accused of killing two African American men in 2000 – even in the face of the findings from an independent U.S. Attorney Office investigation that those officers had lied about their behavior and fired 20 shots into the unarmed victims’ vehicle.

Nasheed has also launched an online petition to gather further support for the appointment of an independent prosecutor.

The Petition is hosted on -- They are close to their goal.

I bet we can put them over the top.

Appoint a Special Prosecutor to Investigate the Murder of Michael Brown

Petition by Jamilah Nasheed

To be delivered to Robert P. McCulloch, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney
The death of Michael Brown at the hands of Ferguson, MO police has stoked tensions and caused unrest across our community, state and nation. This racially charged climate demands an independent, impartial investigation that the St. Louis County Prosecutor's office simply cannot provide.

There are currently 25,709 signatures.  NEW goal - We need 30,000 signatures!

When even the Press Conference klutz is critical of your slower-than-molasses actions -- maybe it's LOOOONG Past Time for appointing a Special Prosecutor, eh?

St. Louis Prosecutor Must Step Up Ferguson Probe, Nixon Says

by Brian Chappatta, Bloomberg News, -- August 17, 2014

St. Louis County prosecutors [Robert McCulloch] must step up their investigations into the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, Governor Jay Nixon said.

No Confidence

“We don’t have any confidence in the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney’s office,” said U.S. Representative William Lacy Clay, a Democrat from St. Louis, according to a Post-Dispatch article dated yesterday. “I have no faith in him, but I do trust the FBI and the Justice Department.”

Federal officials, who are completing a parallel investigation alongside county officials, “help tremendously to make sure that all the information is getting out,” Nixon said.

Give the Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, a piece of your mind -- Tell him that Look-the-other-way McCulloch -- HAS TO GO!

Like Yesterday!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
