Join 350.org's Naomi Klein in a video chat today to launch the one month countdown to the
People's Climate March. The campaign kicks off Thursday with a 48 hour "PCM Recruitment Storm."
Klein will be joined by other guests who are focusing on climate justice from faith, student and artistic perspectives. (Register for the chat here.)
The chat begins at 6:30 PM ET(Click here for viewing link) and will provide participants with details about the campaign and the most effective ways you can become involved.
The goal for the 48 hour Recruitment Storm is to register 10,000 people to join the Sunday, September 21 march, which takes place just two days before the UN Climate Summit.
The historic summit is being convened by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to engage all UN Member States, leaders in the business, civil society, and finance as well as leaders from local public and private sectors "to catalyze ambitious action" prior to the 2015 UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) 21 climate talks in Paris.
Participants in COP21 are tasked with reaching a cohesive and ambitious agreement which equitably limits the rise in global temperature to less than 2-degree Celsius.
Over 750 environmental groups, businesses, unions, faith groups, schools, social justice groups, and other organizations, are collaborating on the march and other events during the week of the Summit.
The march is "Committed to principles of environmental justice and equality — representing the communities that are being hit the hardest by climate change."
Daily Kos will be posting diaries throughout the 48 hours to encourage people to sign up for the march. Diaries which will include sample letters to email to all your contacts as well as tweets and Facebook posts.
Throughout the campaign, we'll be tracking the success of the effort here at Daily Kos through an assigned url and we'll keep the community posted.
A special content box will be available to post in your specific groups or diaries and to insert into comments Thursday and Friday.
Below are some previews of content provided by organizers for use during the 48 hour PCM Rectuitment Storm.

Dear Friends,
This September, world leaders are coming to New York City for a landmark Climate Summit at the United Nations. But we shouldn’t trust those leaders to take action on their own -- we need to prove to them that the world’s people demand action right now.
With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we’ll take a stand to bend the course of history by taking to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach. A world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities.
Join us September 21st in NYC for the People's Climate March – the largest march demanding action on climate change in history.
The success of the summit depends a lot more on us than it does on our politicians. If we seize this moment and show real political power, it will open up the space for meaningful action.
If we fail to turn out, if world leaders walk away from that summit without seeing a strong, public demand for action, there’s no chance our so-called “leaders” are going to make real commitments on their own.
Join us in taking a historic stand at the People's Climate March this September.
Scientists have made it clear that we’re running out of time to avoid catastrophic climate change. Every new report reveals a shorter timeframe for action, and every new disaster underlines their words in grim ink.
By joining the march on September 21st, you will no longer just be a witness to climatic history – you will be shaping it.
