It's getting harder and harder to believe people are so naive as to be surprised by he state of our Nation's police force. They are here for one purpose and that is to protect the oligarchy. They will sometimes go through the motions of doing the job that the naive among us say they are supposed to do but that seems more and more to not even be necessary for show anymore.
Here's a dubious source at best but look what they say. American Oligarchy rules nation with police state enforcement
You might not yet even realize that you are under police state control, but you will soon. Americans are now ruled by an Oligarchy that controls an increasingly powerful police state that has Big Brother surveillance capabilities.
Everything you do will be regulated and if you do not abide by the rule of the elite and their police state enforcers the little liberty and freedom that you still have will cease to exist. The huge growth of armed federal agents in the Department of Homeland Security and the militarization of almost all local police forces and the control of them by directives from Homeland Security ought to tell you something about where we are heading as a nation.
The federal, state, local, corporate, educational, and religious control freaks and the complicit enforcement agencies in America have taken unprecedented Big Brother tyrannical powers over all Americans. They fully intend to make all Americans conform to the wishes of the ruling Oligarchy through threats, enforcement, re-education, and psychosocial dynamics (politically correct group think).
Nothing threatening to this neo-facsist worldview will be allowed in America once the Bible thumpers and constitutional conservatives are marginalized, neutralized, and brought under statist police state control. The only major resistance to police state rule left in America is in the rural areas, but even there, the brainwashing program coming from government controlled MSM and schools is bringing about compliance.
This is coming from "the other side" so to speak but they have it right it seems. Read on below for more.
Is it possible that people we see as threats to democracy also see real threats to democracy? Is it possible that like in the 1960s and 1970s the democratic party is an friend of the ruling oligarchy? When we watch the theater we call "elections" we get wrapped up in rhetoric differences on the two sides. Yet when watch government function, those differences often mean little.
Yes there is a war on women. Yes there is racism. Yes there is inequality. These are real and make for real differences in the rhetoric. But we are in the midst of a series of modern lynchings and police state actions all over the land and nothing gets done. The police are trained in Israel in some cases. If you are watching what those folks do you need to worry.
I risked a lot during the sixties and seventies because I was awakened to the fact that we were a neocolonial imperial power that was dominating the world. It was first a democratic administration that was committing atrocities then republicans took over and it went right on.
In recent years a republican administration started and was followed by a democratic one. They serve the oligarchy with no restraint.
I can understand the reluctance to accept this idea for once you see things this way lots of hopeful illusions are dashed. Yet the recognition ofOligarchy in the United States is growing. People are being slow and cautious in some cases, but it is clear they see it.
Some contemporary authors have characterized current conditions in the United States as being oligarchic in nature. Simon Johnson wrote that "the reemergence of an American financial oligarchy is quite recent," a structure which he delineated as being the "most advanced" in the world. Jeffrey A. Winters wrote that "oligarchy and democracy operate within a single system, and American politics is a daily display of their interplay." Bernie Sanders (I-VT) opined in a 2010 The Nation article that an "upper-crust of extremely wealthy families are hell-bent on destroying the democratic vision of a strong middle-class which has made the United States the envy of the world. In its place they are determined to create an oligarchy in which a small number of families control the economic and political life of our country." The top 1% in 2007 had a larger share of total income than at any time since 1928. In 2011, according to PolitiFact and others, the top 400 wealthiest Americans "have more wealth than half of all Americans combined."
French economist Thomas Piketty states in his 2013 book, Capital in the Twenty-First Century, that "the risk of a drift towards oligarchy is real and gives little reason for optimism about where the United States is headed."
A study conducted by political scientists Martin Gilens of Princeton University, and Benjamin Page of Northwestern University, was released in April 2014, which stated that their "analyses suggest that majorities of the American public actually have little influence over the policies our government adopts." It also suggested that "Americans do enjoy many features central to democratic governance, such as regular elections, freedom of speech and association, and a widespread (if still contested) franchise." Gilens and Page do not characterize the US as an "oligarchy" per se; however, they do apply the concept of "civil oligarchy" as used by Winters with respect to the US.
Most recently, Jeffrey Winters has posited a comparative theory of "oligarchy" in which the wealthiest citizens – even in a "civil oligarchy" like the United States – dominate policy concerning crucial issues of wealth- and income-protection.
Gilens says that average citizens only get what they want if economic elites or interest groups also want it; that is, economic elites and interest groups are influential.
The dominant way of thinking in today's world is reductionist. That means we deal with isolated events and "issues" piecemeal and make little attempt to fit them into a systematic pattern. As a systems scientist I look for links and connections. They are myriad. The situation with the police is not an isolated issue. You saw what they did with OWS and Bundy, for example. The number of blatant violations of what civil rights we have left seems to be increasing rapidly.
I wish I could believe elections could change that. I let down my guard and went all out for Obama and was once again reminded of the harsh reality of this country's system and the role of elections in it.
Many are getting optimistic about changing demographics and the rising up of women because they see see these as signs that elections might go our way soon. So what if they do? Do you really believe that can change things? Do you really believe the people in control will ever give it up that way? I'm 78 and I can't be fooled that way any more. I don't need a weatherman to see which way the wind is blowing.
