Team RP (now standing for Relaxed Progression) report:
First, new name for the team that is now in hiatus on progression - I'm thinking relaxed progression is what we will aim for in Warlords, whenever the team coalesces and gets going on progression. Rubi will probably be unable to go regularly, and it's likely Pamena will be partially retired in WOD in favor of Parsifale or Papagenia (completely accidental that those are all "P" names!), so a name change was in order.
Now the report - last Thursday, I was unable to play, as I fell and hurt my hand (just landed on it, fortunately on the carpet so no breakage, just very sore), but I understand a flex was run and fun was had. This past Monday being Labor Day, I had not scheduled a continuation of our Siege of Orgrimmar 25 person thinking people would be out. But Thanael has been quietly lobbying for a return to Throne of Thunder, on heroic, for some time - the extra boss, Ra-Den, who you can only get to after clearing TOT on heroic, is the only boss of the expansion the guild has not gotten down. SO, I put heroic TOT on the calendar for Labor Day evening, just for fun, figuring we'd go if we got enough people. I was worried, as folks kept logging on and wanting to join the group, that we'd have more than 10 but not enough to manage 25 on heroic - turns out, we had over 20 as we started, and by the time we reached Council of Elders we had a full 25. None of the first 3 fights gave us too much trouble, although we did wipe once on Jin'rokh because of some confusion about the slightly different lightning mechanics. But then we got to the nasty big turtle Tortos, and hoo boy, that was a different story. That fight has always been chaotic to me, what with the whirling little turtles and the bats and the big booms, but now there's an additional mechanic, as you would expect, of crystals that every raid member MUST hit once, every 30 seconds or a minute or so, to get a shield that will allow them to survive Tortos's big Quake stomp which on heroic will one shot you. Poor Rubidium got ninja invited when someone had to leave - he arrived in Tortos's den, and we heard in Mumble "I thought you guys were inviting me to something fun." Lucky for him, he only had to suffer through 2 wipes, as we eventually decided to call it at that point, about 10:45. However, heroic Tortos has not seen the last of us! I figure we can alternate on our Last Chance Mondays, between 25 SoO, which is scheduled to continue, on Galakras, on Sept 8th, and heroic TOT, now on Tortos, on the calendar for Sept. 15. This time on Tortos (and as we get further into SoO), I will ask that people only bring their main toons or an alt that can do equal damage or healing - we had several relatively low-powered toons in there on Monday, and our damage on the turtles may have been too low. We'll see how it goes, but no matter how far we get with each effort, it's fun trying new fights, as we while away the weeks until WOD drops in November! This Thursday, flex continuing from Tuesday's effort, so starting at Dark Shaman.
