I'll make this as short as possible but I never dreamed that all that time and effort I spent in 2008 and 2012 would end up with my having to relive the horror of the 1960s. I was on post doc in Israel when the Gulf of Tonkin scam took place. I cut the training short and came home to lead in the anti-war movement.
Kennedy had already turned me off by sending "advisors" to Viet Nam. It just kept escalating. I was too naive then to realize that both parties are part of a system that serves the needs of the ruling oligarchy. The movement radicalized me very quickly and I soon understood.
Read on below for I have some bitter words for an old man like me.
So here we are again. We are repeating the same old mistakes. But it is so much worse now. Inequality, Global Warming, poisoned food and water and soil, war on women, etc. I never was that fond of Mark Warner buy I sure will stay at home in November rather than support another democratic party going to war. Not only that but I will stop using my resources and energy to back them and once more join and hopefully assume leadership in a movement to stop the war.
So it was all for naught? It seems so. I almost literally killed myself working for Obama in 2008. At my age and with my experience I should have known better. At least this way I'll go to my grave having realized my mistake and having once again stood up for peace and democracy against the oligarchy. That means no support for democratic party war mongers and standing up against them.
