I've been away from Daily Kos for a bit. Between finding an outlet to put my journalism degree to good use while still being able to have an opinion and recently getting on day shift at last, I've been a bit squeezed.
Well, I'm just getting used to being on days--and wouldn't you know, I happen to find out that Chuck Woolery, a guy I grew up watching, is a full-on, no-questions-asked teabagger. Little Green Footballs happened to dig up three tweets from September 12 in which Woolery declared himself a member of the "Obama is a Mooslim" crowd.
Wow. To put it mildly, all my respect for Woolery has evaporated worse than a bad date from "Love Connection."
The rest of his Twitter feed is a right-wing cesspool. He airs a tea-infused five-minute commentary on several radio stations. His latest is a rant about that old wingnut bogeyman, Bill Ayers. Watch here.
You may be wondering who might be disreputable enough to air something like this. Well, I haven't been able to find a list anywhere.
I thought I was disappointed when Kirk Cameron went hard right. But Woolery's swing, from the looks of it, is several times worse.
