New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte has exposed our plan
As everybody in the vast left-wing conspiracy has known for months, President Obama's air assault on ISIS is a wag-the-dog scheme designed to boost Democratic electoral chances in this November's election.
The idea was simple: President Obama's main job in the midterms is to increase Democratic turnout, and there's nothing the Democratic base loves more than a good bombing campaign in the Middle East. It's that thirst for war that propelled him over Hillary Clinton in 2008, and it's that thirst for war that was going to help us fight back the GOP in 2014 ... until New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte raised her voice and unmasked the scheme:
New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R) argued on Sunday that President Obama has declared war against ISIS in Iraq and Syria in order to help Democrats win the midterm elections in November and expressed concern that he would abandon the fight in the new year.
“I think we have a problem where the president’s foreign policy is being trapped by his campaign rhetoric,” Ayotte began during an appearance on Fox News Sunday. “I’m very fearful as we look at the current military strategy that it is surrounding the November elections and he won’t have the resolve to follow through with what needs to be done in a sustained effort to destroy ISIS, and we’re about to repeat the same thing with Afghanistan,” she added, referring to the effort to withdraw American troops from that country.
Yes, like you, I knew it was only a matter of time before Republicans figured this out. But really, I'm a little surprised that they discovered it with so much time to go before the election. I truly hope Democrats can recover now that our secret is known to the world.
But I'm not optimistic. As the DCCC might say in a late-month fundraising email: "THE SKY IS FALLING ON OUR DOOMED SELVES. IT'S OVER. WE'RE GOING HOME. WE GIVE UP."
