Making Ted Cruz and the GOP cry.
Ted Cruz:
“Traditional marriage is an institution whose integrity and vitality are critical to the health of any society," Cruz said. "We should remain faithful to our moral heritage and never hesitate to defend it.”
Reince Preibus, RNC Chair:
Appearing on MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown on Tuesday, Reince Priebus reiterated the GOP’s support for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman, before arguing that social conservatives like David Lane and Tony Perkins are “right to be concerned about what’s happened here in this country over the last couple of years.” [...]
“I don’t think [marriage equality] is a top here issue for the midterms,” he said. “I think long term it’s an issue in regard to what we need to do in the country to have a strong economy, a strong defense and a strong society.”
So Republicans are arguing that America will collapse if the gays can marry, because love is apparently very corrosive to the economy, the military, and society in general. What does America think? Here's Pew's numbers:

Here's Gallup:
Boy, that's some serious change in the just a single generation, huh? So here we have the GOP kicking the corpse of their rebranding efforts dead. But hey, they don't call them "conservatives" for nothing, as they cling to bigotries that the American mainstream has already surrendered, riding them proudly into the fringe.
