I'm just off the phone from a political call. That's not unusual; here in Iowa you would think it's a presidential year from the flood of political calls. This one started getting funny because it was Joni Ernst. Why was she wasting time calling a Democrat in the People's Republic of Johnson County?
Because the goofy gal didn't know who her target was. It started with, "Paul…" Paul? There hasn't been a "Paul" living at this address for twenty-six years (the previous owner was Paul). It got funnier with, "the voters of Urbandale…" Urbandale? That's a Des Moines suburb. It wouldn't surprise me that a Paul living in Urbandale was a Republican. I just didn't happen to be Paul, or living in Urbandale, or a Republican.
She went on to bemoan about how good the Democrats are this year at getting absentee ballots in. Wouldn't I please, please fill out and send in the absentee ballot request she was sending me?
If this is a measure of her campaign's competence (wrong name, wrong city, wasting postage sending Democrats absentee ballot requests) then we have no excuse for losing this one.
Wherever you live, you have a stake in this race. If you can, please donate to Braley's campaign. And everyone can share Crashing Vor's amazing video about Joni Ernst!
