Decided to do a little poem about what I was up to on Monday. Find it below the orange squiggly dingbat. Thank you for stopping by!
Kalliope
Means "beautiful voice" from Greek καλλος (kallos) "beauty" and οψ (ops) "voice". In Greek mythology she was a goddess of epic poetry and eloquence, one of the nine Muses.
Join us every Tuesday afternoon at the Daily Kos community political poetry club.
Your own poetry is always welcome in the comments.
Bongos, berets & turtle neck sweaters optional.
The keyboard is mightier than the sword.
Fall Chores
Up on my roof today,
Working ahead of impending
Autumn rains,
Knocking moss off,
Sweeping it, Doug fir
Needles, and London
Plane Tree leaves away,
Scooping accumulated debris
Out of the gutters.
Didn't get them
Rinsed out with the hose;
Didn't get the moss killer
Applied, but that can
Happen after the rains
Begin. It's better when
The dampness has come.
In the meantime
It was a lovely day.
A bit of “Indian Summer”
Up on my roof in Portland
In the first half of October.
