Senator Mark Udall (D. CO) is keeping up with his attacks against Tea Party Rep. Cory Gardner (R. CO) on reproductive rights but he also has a new ad highlighting his record on another key issue:

At the start of a final media blitz heading into Election Day, Colorado Sen. Mark Udall's campaign is going up with a new ad attacking his Republican challenger, Rep. Cory Gardner, over the issue that has been the centerpiece of Udall's campaign: women's health.
Udall's campaign is also rolling out a new ad that touts his criticism of the National Security Agency's domestic spying programs. Both ads are six-figure statewide buys and part of the campaign's plan to flood the Colorado airwaves before the election, with the race, crucial to control of the Senate, looking like it will be one of the tightest in the country.
"Mass collection of our phone and internet records started under a Republican President, continued under a Democratic one," Udall says to open the NSA ad. "I won't tolerate it." - TPM, 10/14/14
This is a good strategy because while Udall has been heavily focused on hitting Gardner on reproductive rights, he's also highlighting his record on domestic surveillance which is a big issue in a Libertarianish state like Colorado. By the way, Udall had a big name on the campaign trail for his recently:

Hillary Clinton swung by Colorado to help out embattled Democratic Sen. Mark Udall on Monday during a western swing in which she also spoke of being a new grandmother.
Clinton held a closed-door fundraiser for Udall, who is facing a tough challenge from Rep. Cory Gardner. They ordered coffee at Denver's refurbished Union Station, and she paused to shake hands, posed for photos and lent her political celebrity to the incumbent a day before ballots are mailed to voters.
The former secretary of state was quick to beckon 10-year-old Macy Friday out of the crowd of onlookers to pose for photos with her, her brother and her father Derek, who introduced his mother Elaine, who had just arrived from Ohio. - Huffington Post, 10/13/14
Also I want to give a big shout out to Media Matters For America for continuing to rip the Denver Post's idiotic endorsement of Gardner:

Paper Fails To Address Gardner's Support For Federal Personhood Bill
FactCheck.org: Gardner "Still Backs A Federal Personhood Bill." Although Gardner changed his original support of Colorado's personhood legislation -- which would grant the rights afforded to people to a human egg at fertilization -- following criticism that the measures could ban some forms of contraception, the candidate "still backs a federal personhood bill," as FactCheck.org pointed out, citing the Gardner campaign's own admission (emphasis added):
In March, Gardner himself acknowledged that the personhood initiative could lead to a ban or restriction on some forms of birth control. "The past four years as I've learned more about it, I've come to the conclusion it can ban common forms of contraception," Gardner said, according to the Associated Press.
[...]
Gardner announced his change of position eight months after he had signed on as a co-sponsor to the federal "Life at Conception Act," which would extend "equal protection for the right to life" under the 14th amendment to the "preborn" from the "moment of fertilization." That language -- giving the rights of a person to the fertilized egg -- is exactly what raises the question of what such a measure would mean for some forms of birth control. Yet Gardner's campaign told us he was not withdrawing his support for the federal legislation. Spokesman Alex Siciliano told us by email: "The federal proposal in question simply states that life begins at conception, as most pro-life Americans believe, with no change to contraception laws." We still have plenty of time to defeat Gardner. Click here to donate and get involved with Udall's campaign:
