Yep, you read that right. People in the Levant are cheering U.S. airstrikes on ISIS. As reported by Derek Henry Flood, a photographer who has been following the battle for Kobane from the Turkish side of the border:

Turkish jandarma disperses us journos after crowds began loudly chanting "sipas ABD" (thank you USA) as YPG fights below in #Kobane #Syria

And it seems that the Turkish police weren't all too happy about that. No surprise there, when one considers that the Turkish government has been blocking food and medical supplies to Kobane while ISIS fighters are treated in Turkish hospitals.
Maybe the conservatives in Turkey don't like the fact that the Kurds in northern Syria are leftist democrats who celebrate diversity, equal rights for women, and the female fighters of the People's Militia who are playing a big role in their battle against ISIS? The Syrian Kurds admire their female fighters so much that they even dedicate songs to them:
Strong, empowered, courageous women are one of the cures to the ills that beset the Middle East. They need and deserve our support.
There's an increasingly popular We The People petition to encourage President Obama to give more support to the Syrian Kurds:

Share it far and wide if you care about the plight of the Kurdish people.
