Oh Scott you terrible, terrible liar:
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/...
Former Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) on Tuesday night denied that he previously suggested that Islamic State militants could cross the southern border into the U.S.
During the New Hampshire Senate debate, moderator Chuck Todd asked Brown what evidence he had to suggest that the southern border is "the most obvious pathway for terrorists to enter our country."
"With respect, I did not say that -- what I have said is ISIS is real," Brown responded.
"Is there a possibility?" Brown continued. "It's been raised that there are opportunities for people to come through that border. What are their intentions, I'm not sure, but they have made it very clear that they want to plant a flag in the White House. - TPM, 10/22/14
Yeah, that's bull shit:
http://www.bloomberg.com/...
TODD: Senator Brown, you have suggested that the Islamic militant group ISIS could come across the U.S. border, in fact, saying that is, quote, “the most obvious pathway for terrorists to enter our country.” What is the evidence for that assertion? We've had terrorists come across the border, the north of the border.
BROWN: With respect, I did not say that. What I have said is that ISIS is real.
He did say that, and he wanted the press to hear him say it. In a heavily promoted foreign-policy speech last month, Brown warned voters that “these ISIS thugs have been saying for months that they’re going to send people here to kill Americans on as big a scale as they can, and never mind that a porous border is the most obvious pathway for terrorists to enter our country.” - Bloomberg, 10/22/14
And he said this:
http://thehill.com/...
One day after winning a primary making him the GOP's Senate nominee in New Hampshire, Scott Brown said Islamic militants could already be crossing the border into the United States.
Brown also said that the U.S. shouldn't rule out putting ground troops in the Middle East to fight insurgents with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"As you know, what happened recently with the beheading of one of our own, there's deep concerns that there are members of ISIS actually coming through the border right now," Brown said on Fox News.
"We need to secure the border, once and for all," Brown said. "We need to make sure that we have an immigration policy that works. But not one that rewards that illegality with incentives. And the president needs to really rethink very, very, seriously what he's about to do.
"And does it mean boots on the ground?" he said. "Everything should be on the table. Of course, we don't want another world war. But to immediately take things off the table is wrong." - The Hill, 9/10/14
And Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D. NH) called out his fear mongering:
http://www.msnbc.com/...
New Hampshire Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen accused Republican challenger Scott Brown of “fear mongering” over the Ebola crisis Tuesday in a debate in Concord during which the candidates also clashed over the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and health care.
The Senate race remains highly competitive in the final stretch, and Democrats are fighting to keep control of the Senate. Shaheen leads Brown by an average of just 2.6 points in recent polls, according to an analysis by RealClearPolitics.
Brown, whose campaign has focused intensely on national security issues in recent months, accused President Obama of failing to protect Americans from Ebola. “The president said we’re not going to have any issues here, we’re going to stamp it out in its tracks, and we had one person die and two others infected,” Brown said. He argued that the White House needs to implement a complete travel ban on individuals from African countries battling the virus, a move health officials and medical experts have warned could be counterproductive.
Shaheen said she was open to a travel ban “if we can figure out that actually improves the situation” and cited her work as New Hampshire governor instituting safety protocols during the 2001 Anthrax attacks as proof of her credentials. “We need to work together,” she said. “What we don’t need are people who are fear mongering, who are spreading panic in the public, because this is serious.” - MSNBC, 10/21/14
