Does anyone really think people should be able to buy political influence or that those seeking to influence elections should be allowed to conceal their identity? Does anyone think the very rich should pay lower tax rates than those who are much less wealthy? Should qualified voters be prevented from voting? Yet, Republican policy does all that.
Does anyone really think people with pre-existing conditions should be denied health insurance or that health care in this country is not much too expensive? (Only those who do not foot the bill (e.g. Medicare recipients) can delude themselves that it isn’t.) Yet, Republicans voted 50 times to repeal Obamacare (a program a substantial majority now supports).
Most would agree that those who work full-time should earn enough to pull themselves out of poverty.
Republican “cut everything” economic policy failed in Kansas and Wisconsin. The only recent President to manage a budget surplus was a Democrat.
Most regulations and special tax breaks exist because some lobbying group wanted them enacted. And the most influential group has always been the business lobby.
No one thinks we should allow ourselves to be governed by fear. Yet, fear mongering is what Republicans constantly do.
