If you think big money is the common thread that has corrupted our political culture and you want to do something to stop that, then you have a candidate that is fighting to make that happen.
His name is Rick Weiland and he is running the single most inspiring campaign in America right now to be South Dakota's next U.S. Senator.
This diary is going to be short and sweet because there isn't much more that needs to be said - just watch this video of Rick's interview with a South Dakota politics/community events show 100 Eyes, here's the link:

I will say this - he is endorsed by Elizabeth Warren for a very good reason.
Also, notice the host of the show's seeming skepticism and dismissiveness (maybe he is playing devil's advocate, but maybe not) about the campaign Weiland is running - traveling to every town in South Dakota and meeting as many people, PEOPLE, as he can, trying to get them to believe in his message and in him. To my mind, this is exactly the type of campaign we need to see more of - a campaign that cuts out the middlemen - Big Money - and returns the political process to PEOPLE.
The host of the show doesn't seem to realize, he is part of the problem. He seems to show some disdain for the people in small town South Dakota - just like Big Money does.
If you are tired of Big Money in politics, support Rick Weiland and his constitutional amendment to roll back Citizens United as his first act when he becomes South Dakota's next U.S. Senator.

9:21 AM PT: I should point out - do you want to see what politics looks like without Big Money? Watch the video - it's a common sense discussion about the issues and how to address and solve problems so that people can lead better lives.
It is so refreshing. And why? Because Big Money is a limited part of this race, so it cannot deluge people with ridiculous ads filled with twisted snippets of video or audio that are meant to scare and confuse.
And, the candidates know this, so they are more comfortable discussing issues openly. Wouldn't that be nice to see in EVERY campaign? Isn't that what politics is meant to be - a market place of ideas and a place where we come together to solve problems rather than a place where Big Money can buy influence by manipulating the political process to advance their Big Money interests?
